Janet Livingstone
Janet Livingstone was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and first traveled to Czechoslovakia in the heady days following the Velvet Revolution of 1989. More than sixteen years spent living in Bratislava forged a lasting bond with the city, which remains her second home. In addition to her published book-length translations, she has translated The Best of All Worlds by the award-winning Slovak-Swiss author Irena Brežná, (a manuscript currently seeking a publisher), as well as treatments and subtitles for several successful Slovak films. Today, Livingstone lives in Seattle, where she leads her own leadership and learning consultancy. Alongside Slovak, she speaks French, Italian, Russian, and Spanish whenever she can find a willing conversation partner.
