Ivana Dobrakovová
Ivana Dobrakovová (1982) is a writer and translator. She is based in Turin, where she works as a freelance translator from the French and Italian into Slovak, notably of Elena Ferrante’s highly successful Neapolitan saga. She has published a novel, Bellevue (2010), and several collections of short stories. She has won several literary competitions, including the Ján Johanides Award in the category Best Fiction Debut by a Young Writer, and Poviedka (Short Story) 2008. Many of her books have been shortlisted for the Anasoft Litera prize including Matky a kamionisti (Mothers and Truckers, 2018), which won the 2019 European Union Prize for Literature. Her latest collection of short stories, Iné myšlienky (Other Thoughts) has been longlisted for the 2026 Anasoft Litera Prize.
